Situated 16km from the Katunguru Gate of the Queen Elizabeth National Park, Katara Lodge boasts stunning views from it’s position on the Great Rift Valley Escarpment. Each of the eight thatched rooms has views over the open savannah, and the four poster beds can be wheeled out onto the verandah for a night under the stars! Eco-sensitivity is at the core of the lodge’s ethos, with a salt-water infinity pool providing a stuinning viewpoint, and a rain water harversting program in place. The lodge’s position on the escarpment has made it an ideal spot for bird-watching in the downtime between activities – including eagles using the thermals as well as over 600 species of birds in the area.
