Quirkily designed to reflect its name, Chameleon Hill Lodge overlooks Lake Mutanda in between Kisoro and the Bwindi Inpentrable Forest. The ten chalets are individually designed with a different colour scheme, and guests are encouraged to explore more of the area once the main highlight – gorilla trekking has been completed – choose from seeing golden monkeys, boat excursions (the lodge has the only motorised boat on the lake), village visits, hikes or even taking the opportunity to carve a gorilla mask or make a piece of jewellry under the expert tutelage of a local craftsperson. Alternatively, you may prefer to indulge with a massage – the perfect antedote to the Ugandan roads!
