Budongo Eco Lodge is in the remote Budongo Forest sector of Murchison Falls National Park, and is superbly placed to track chimpanzees habituated in the area. The by-word is rustic simplicity as the five simple cabins are designed to blend into their forest surroundings, and are connected by well maintained paths between them and the main area. The good news is that the lodge now has flushing toilets in the ensuite bathrooms! The communal area is basic but comfortably furnished, compromising of a lounge and reception area and outside dining on the undercover terrace. The biding in the area is also particuarly good, though we don’t recommend trying to visit Murchison Falls itself from here – instead combine a couple of days here with time elsewhere in the park to make the most of your time.
