Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is much smaller than Bwindi and offers magnificent views of three extinct volcanoes from the Virunga range across the park. Arguably it is the most scenic area of Uganda’s parks, with stunning panoramic views towards Bwindi. Here you have the chance to track golden monkeys as well as a nomadic gorilla family (who occasionally cross into Rwanda from here).
Mgahinga also acts as a gateway to some incredible hiking opportunities, including Mount Gahinga, Mount Sabyinyo (either to the peak or along the gorge trail) or to Garama Cave, guided by traditional Batwa community members.
